Bangor Business Awards
Planning is well underway for the 2007 Bangor Business Award, North Down’s premier business event which will take place on Wednesday 2nd May in the Clandeboye Lodge Hotel. Now in its seventh year, the Bangor Business Awards, like a vintage wine improving with age, continually sets a precedent to which other Business Awards throughout the province wish to aspire too.
Organised jointly by the Bangor Chamber of Commerce and Bangor and Holywood Town Centres Ltd, the Business Awards working group consists of local business managers and agencies focused on promoting best practice. The group has been able to secure for the second year running, the Northern Bank as the awards principal sponsor. North Down and Ards Senior Branch Manger, David Croft said “The Bangor area is one of the fastest growing economic regions in Northern Ireland. We are delighted to demonstrate our commitment to business in Bangor and keen to build on the relationships which we have developed during the previous year’s awards process.”
2007 will see businesses compete for 16 different awards including: Best Small Business, Best New Business and Best Commercial Premises. Each award category is likely to be highly contested with none more so than Bangor’s Key Person of the Year Award which honours the unsung heroes of business, the people who work behind the scenes ensuring that deadlines and appointments are kept and that the company is run effectively.
The Bangor Business Awards are judged independently by Spotcheck, a subsidiary body of the Wholesale and Retail Training Council. This gives professionalism and independence to the judging of the awards and ensures that only those businesses promoting best practice wins.
Make sure you keep an eye out for the launch of the 2007 Business Awards which will take place in early February and fill out your application form to be in with a chance of winning one of the highly sought accolades.
