Bangor Travel Agent wins top Award

Local independent retailer Feherty Travel was at the 2006 Northern Ireland Travel and Tourism Awards recognised for their excellence and approach to Best Practice by being named Travel Agent of the Year at the awards ceremony held at the Slieve Donard Hotel in Newcastle.

 

The highly coveted accolade is seen as the crown jewel in the Northern Ireland Tourism industry and is so significant as the nominations for the awards are put forward by the customers. 

 

Now in its fifteenth year, the award process begins in early June when voting slips are placed in the Northern Ireland Travel News magazine.  Following the close of voting, the top five businesses are then put forward to the judging process where in the space of a month they receive two mystery shopper visits and three customer enquiry phone calls.

Feherty travel who specialise in tailor made holidays throughout the world received their award for their attention to detail and professionalism and being prepared to go that extra step to ensure that all the needs of the customer are appropriately met.

 

Having been operational for 34 years in Bangor it is great testament to the hard work and dedication of the staff, all of which have over 18 years experience in the tourism industry that an independent travel agent has been able to compete with the UK known brands.

This awards crowns of a highly successful year for the business in which they won the award for Best Commercial Premises at the Bangor Business Awards and also received a Gold Accolade at the NDBC Tidy Business Awards.
