One of the leading independent retailers in Bangor, Wallhangers has been established for nearly 8 years and since November 2003 has been run by husband and wife team, Ian and Sharon Matchett.

Primarily picture framers, Wallhangers stock a range of limited edition Washington Green prints, as well as prints of Terry Bradley’s work.  There is also a place for local arts and crafts with a variety of prints from the Seacourt workshop and an array of North Down crafts on display.

 

                                   

 

As a member of the Fine Arts Trade Guild, Ian is a recognised Guild Commended Framer, a qualification required in order to become members.  Membership brings added professionalism to Wallhangers as they are now promoting Best Practice in frame making.

 

They have been recognised for their eye for detail and presentation by winning a Washington Green, UK wide competition for their window display and were also Runner up in the 2006 Bangor Business Awards in the category of Best Small Business.

 

Although being your own boss brings challenges and extra responsibility Ian and Sharon relish in their independence as it allows their artistic background to flourish in an extremely creative environment.
