Bangor

Bangor on the east coast of Northern Ireland is a town rich in culture and history. Derived from the Irish word Beannchar it has a growing population which today stands at 80,000. The seaside resort is only 14 miles from Belfast and the recently improved public transport networks mean that the town is now more accessible than ever.

The third largest town in Northern Ireland, Bangor’s modern roots date back to the 17th Century when Sir James Hamilton introduced new economic & social orders in North Down. A timely reminder of old Bangor is the tourist information centre, Tower House on Quay Street, which dates back to this period.

Recent Developments

Recent developments in the town have included the development of Bangor Marina and Pickie Fun Park. The eagerly awaited Queen's Parade Development will mean that Bangor should once again be seen as the premier town to shop and visit in Northern Ireland.

Town Centre

Bangor’s wide ranging retail offer means that the town has got something to offer everyone. The mix between UK multiples combined with our broad range of independents, is a further indication that the town can satisfy the needs of locals and the growing number of tourists that visit each year.

Bangor’s retailers and hoteliers provide a superb range of fashion accessories, speciality foods, award winning cafes, restaurants, Public Houses, crafts shops, Guest Houses and hotels which mean that once you’ve got here you won’t want to leave!
